The Supreme Wine Bistro has now become one of the leading gastronomic destinations in the Tokaj wine region. It is not only a favourite with guests but is also closely followed by the culinary profession: its refined yet authentic cuisine, its commitment to local ingredients and the high standard of its wine and food pairings have rightly earned it recognition in both the domestic and international gastronomic scenes. Today, the winery is much more than just an outstanding estate: the guesthouse, the restaurant and the special wine-tasting programmes together create a place where guests can gain a complete picture of the treasures of Tokaj-Hegyalja. One of the region’s most remarkable cellars, stretching nearly 450 metres in length, combined with high-quality hospitality and a warm, family-like atmosphere, makes the time spent here truly memorable.

For me, the Emerencia Winery (Olaszliszka) is one of the finest examples in the Tokaj wine region of how true value lies not in size, but in dedication and professional rigour. For decades, this family-run, artisanal estate has been committed to traditional Tokaj winemaking, and their wines reflect the uniqueness of the wine region and the careful, precise craftsmanship in every single bottle.

I find it particularly inspiring that the winery is shaped by the shared dedication of a mother and her two daughters. Hermann Emerencia has laid the foundations for the estate’s excellent reputation through her decades of professional work, whilst her daughters, Alíz and Laura, as viticultural and oenological engineers, are carrying on the knowledge and values that will shape the winery’s future for generations to come. It is this female collaboration, the family harmony and the high level of professional expertise that make Emerencia Winery truly special.

Building on the exceptional qualities of its World Heritage-listed vineyards, the estate produces wines that rightly enhance Tokaj’s reputation on the international stage, whilst reflecting precision and professional rigour in every detail.

What makes the Botrytis Borhotel so special is that it combines the treasures of the World Heritage-listed Tokaj-Hegyalja region with a high-quality guest experience. The proximity to historic vineyards, the carefully designed spaces, the gastronomic delights and the attentive hospitality all contribute to making your time here truly memorable.

For me, it is one of those places where quality is not only evident in the details but permeates the entire atmosphere. It is a unique meeting point between wine, culture and hospitality, which truly represents the values of Mád and Tokaj-Hegyalja.
